J. Cole Performs on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’

J Cole JacketGrammy nominee J. Cole made a stop on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ where he performed the second single off of his debut album ‘Cole World: The Sideline Story.’ The Roc Nation signee performed ‘Can’t Get Enough’ without Trey Songz, who sings on the track’s hook, but had The Roots to back him up.

The ‘Work Out’ rapper was just as excited to appear on the show as fans might have been to see him rip through his song with the help of ?uestlove’s crew and took to twitter to announce his enthusiasm about the performance. “Cole World and The Legendary Roots Crew. Jimmy FALLON now! Slickkk right,” Cole wrote.

J. Cole is up for Best New Artist at the 2012 Grammy Awards which go down on February 12th, although he’ll have to beat out some stiff competition including Nicki Minaj, Skrillex, Bon Iver and The Band Perry. But Cole’s mentor, Jay-Z, doesn’t think that the other nominees have any chance of beating out his Roc Nation signee. “I think it’s great for him, because I’m sure it’s a dream of his. We grew up seeing Michael Jackson, and I’m sure he grew up seeing whatever moment stuck in his mind, so I know it’s great for him to do that. I think he’s already won Best New Artist, to me. His journey is what I’m really excited about,” Hov told MTV News.

The ‘Return to Simba’ rapper is currently readying to shoot ‘Nobody’s Perfect,’ which features Missy Elliot. Cole has recruited Colin Tiley to create the visuals for his Missy Elliot supported track and the video is probably in good hands as the director has lent his talents to some of hip hop’s biggest talents including work on Lil Wayne’s ‘John,’ Wiz Khalifa’s ‘Sleep’ and Chris Brown’s ‘Look At Me Now.’
