Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre to Headline Coachella Music Festival 2012

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg are set to headline this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival along with the Black Keys and Radiohead. The two rappers will hit the stage on both Sundays of the festival following acts like Florence + the Machine, The Weeknd, Company Flow and DJ Shadow.

This year’s festival, which runs from April 13-15 and 20-22, features a number of hip hop acts including Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Azealia Banks, araabMUZIK, ASAP Rocky, Flying Lotus, Childish Gambino and Santigold.

The festival could mark The Weeknd’s first live show in the U.S. after the rapper cancelled on Vice’s Upfront Extravaganza, which was set to debut the Canadian rapper back in September. The rapper has become more visible following the completion of his trilogy of mixtapes and even stepped up to defend Drake after Common dissed the ‘Take Care’ creator.

2012 marks the first year that the long running music festival, which started up in 1999, has run over two weekends. Last year, the festival sold out only days after tickets became available and Goldenvoice, the show’s organizer, revealed that Kanye West had been selected as the headlining act.

Tickets for Coachella 2012 go on sale Friday, January 13th at 10:00 a.m. PT through the festival’s website, which strongly recommends that those hoping to attend set up their accounts no later than Thursday and familiarize themselves with the purchasing process ahead of time.
