Fans have been begging for a new Wu-Tang Clan album for quite some time, and RZA says that the hip hop group is looking to drop a new project during 2012.
Wu-Tang Clan members have put out a few new projects recently, but it’s been quite some time since the entire rap collective got together to make another classic LP. It looks like things are starting to work themselves out, as the group is looking to drop a new LP during 2012.
In a recent interview with DJ Semtex, Ghostface Killah expressed that the group is looking to drop a brand new album sometime during May of 2012, and Raekwon also added the group had already been recording new songs for the project.
The latest member to add his 2 pennies to the subject is none other than RZA himself. In a recent interview, RZA expressed that the group is indeed looking to drop a new project, and that he has been in talks with fellow member Ghostface Killah about the project.
“Me and Ghostface talk about it a lot,” he said. “The other members are talking about it. We’ll see what life brings — let’s put it that way.
“To have an official Wu-Tang Clan album with everybody coming together, it’s never an easy task,” he continued. “It’s like an independent film or something, a lot of pieces that have to be put together. But I’m always up for that challenge, so I think it’ll happen again — someday.”
Method Man recently announced that he would be releasing his final album as well, which will be entirely produced by RZA.Only time will tell what comes from the group, but fans will definitely be waiting for the day.
