Diddy SuitRecent rumors that Diddy was looking to move into the world of television look like they had their facts right as the hip hop mogul recently announced the launch of his new station Revolt TV. Rumors have been circulating that Diddy would team up with Comcast to put out his new channel since he hinted that he’d be hitting the small screen in a big way early in 2012.

Diddy made the announcement in a YouTube video where he explains that the station will offer artists a chance to express themselves “uncut, raw, and uncensored” and adds that the station will combine social media platforms to create a “revolution in music on television.”

Diddy pointed to his success in the music industry as something that he’ll be able to bring to Revolt in an effort to make it a top music station. “I had a dream that one day I would get a chance, an opportunity to show my perspective coming from a musical standpoint. I take a lot of pride in having experience, the credibility, the authenticity and the relationships to make REVOLT TV the No. 1 name and home for music on television,” said Diddy.

Diddy’s station is one of four new Comcast channels that the media company will back as part of their voluntary public interest commitment which will see Comcast launch a total of 10 minority-owned independent stations over the next eight years. Magic Johnson, Robert Rodriguez and Said Schwarz all hit up the media giant to launch channels of their own alongside Diddy.
