Mac Miller’s official Blue Slide Park album sales numbers are in, and the Pittsburgh native managed to sell a total of 148,915 copies in his first week on retail shelves and digital download.
The Pittsburgh native has come a long way, and has build quite a cult fan following over the past few years with his 2010 K.I.D.S. mixtape and his 2011 follow up, Best Day Ever. Miller has amassed quite a following through his social media accounts which include his Twitter account. His Twitter has grown immensely over the past few months and he now has nearly 1.2 million followers.
Selling nearly 150k copies in your first week is quite an accomplishment for any artist in today’s music industry, but Mac Miller made history with his Blue Slide Park album. This record is the first one to hit number 1 since Tha Dogg Pound’s ‘Dogg Food’ album, which released all the way back in 1995.
It’s safe to say that Mac Miller’s Blue Slide Park album can officially be considered a commercial success, and it will be interesting to see how Mac unleashes his potential on future projects.
