Drake Receives Platinum Certification For Lil Wayne Assisted Single ‘The Motto’

Drake starts off 2012 with a brand new platinum plaque for his Lil Wayne assisted single ‘The Motto.’

Whether you love or hate Drake, you cannot deny the fact that he is quickly becoming one of the most popular artists in the music business. His hip hop meets R&B style has been perceived well by a large audience that has no problem supporting the artist they love.

After releasing his highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Take Care’ towards the latter half of 2011, the project received rave album reviews from fans and critics alike. This helped fuel album sales for the project, and ‘Take Care’ ended up earning a platinum plaque within a few short weeks of hitting retailers and digital downloads.

One track off the album that really stood out on the mainstream scene was the Lil Wayne featured single ‘The Motto.’ We knew it was a matter of time before this track went platinum, and it is now official. Drake and Weezy’s ‘The Motto’ single has officially surpassed the 1 million copies sold mark.
