Chris Brown Will Perform at the Grammy Awards

Chris Brown will hit the stage at the 2012 Grammy Awards on February 12th alongside deadmaus5, Foo Fighters, David Guetta and Lil Wayne in a special performance that will showcase dance and electronic music. The ‘I Can Transform Ya’ singer’s performance will mark his first appearance at the ceremony since he canceled his scheduled performance at the show in 2009.
Brown pulled out of the ceremony in 2009 when he was slated to appear with his then-girlfriend Rihanna, but their joint performance was promptly canceled after the ‘F.A.M.E.’ creator infamously assaulted Rihanna the morning of the show. Since the incident, Chris Brown has not attended the Grammy’s even though he’s managed to secure several nominations in the past three years.
The singer might have been added in to perform with Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes as the trio has been nominated for Best Rap Performance for their track ‘Look At Me Now,’ which appears on Brown’s most recent record. Both David Guetta and deadmau5 have acquired nominations for Best Dance Recording, while the Foo Fighters are up for a number of awards including Album of the Year as well as for deadmau5’s remix of their track ‘Wasting Light.’ Chris Brown is looking to take home the Best R&B Album award for his fourth studio album, ‘F.A.M.E.,’ which dropped in March of last year and could win in a number of other categories as well.
Rihanna is also scheduled to hit the stage when she drops in with Coldplay and the show represents the first concert that she’s shared with Brown since their split. LL Cool J is slated to host the ceremony and a number of top acts will perform at the event including Adele, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean and Nicki Minaj.
